One year of running on the books. Here is what I've learned so:
Running is a thing you can spend hours doing every week and still be very bad at after a long time (a year).
Running slow is somehow more difficult than running fast.
Hokas look silly but they are comfy as heck.
You think you look cool running out there until you catch your shadow looking like Shrek in a sports bra.
Some runs feel like flying. Some feel like moving through wet sludge. There is no reason why or middle ground on this.
Always pee before you go out.
It is probably best to run without music or audio but I am not that elite yet. (Can't be alone with my thoughts for that long.)
Running does not make me better than everyone else but it does make me more annoying because I talk about it with people who don't care but are forced to listen to my new hobby.
Nothing feels as good as sprinting during the bridge of a great song.
Invest in a good sweat-proof sunscreen - and don’t forget the backs of the ears.
